Konstantina Dipla

 

Dr. Dipla is currently an assistant professor at the Department of Sports Science at Serres, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. She received her Ph.D. degree in Exercise Physiology (1997) from Temple University, Philadelphia PA, USA (1997), and continued for Post-Doctoral Studies in the Physiology Department, School of Medicine, Temple University, USA (1998). Next, she was employed as an Ass. Scientist at the Cardiovascular Research Institute, Temple University. Since 2008 she is a faculty member of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She is the co-author of >48 articles (>1200 citations, h index 17) and a reviewer for >15 journals. Her research interests focus on clinical exercise physiology and the mechanisms by which exercise can prevent or delay chronic disease. Dr. Dipla is currently involved in projects examining (i) cardiovascular function during exercise in individuals with chronic diseases (hypertension, diabetes, obesity) and (ii) alterations in skeletal muscle microvacular function in response to exercise and inactivity.
